It’s what God is doing that really matters
Philippians 2:12-30
“It is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose” Philippians 2:13 (NIV)
As Christians we should conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel (1:27)
Therefore … we “work out” our salvation (2:12 and 14-16)
some examples (2:17-30)
But we knowing it is God who is at work (2:13)

Have the same mind as Christ
Philippians 1:27-2:11
Live a life that is worthy of the Gospel of Jesus (1:27)
Don’t be afraid of opposition from those who do not believe (2:28-29)
And let humility shape the way you relate with those who do believe (2:1-4)
– have the same mind as Chris (2:5-11)
A life that is worthy of the Gospel of Jesus begins with humility and repentance…

Think of yourselves as Partners in the Gospel
Philippians 1:12-26
Paul writes to encourage the Philippians to stand firm (1:27 & 4:1)
He shares his joyful prayer for his partners in the Gospel (1:1-11)
and his positive perspective on challenges to their Gospel work (1:12-18)
He expresses his resolve – to do everything for Christ and His Gospel (1:18-26)
All of this encourages US too… as partners in the Gospel

True Wisdom is Gospel Wisdom
James 3:13-18
1. If you claim to be wise, show it in your actions (v13)
2. Wisdom and understanding are seen in actions motivated by meekness (v13)
3. Wisdom and understanding are not seen in jealousy and selfish ambition (v14-16)
4. Godly wisdom is – pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, sincere. (v17-18)
5. It is the gospel of Jesus that makes us truly wise!
